Bio

Kim Tairi is the Kaitoha Puka (University Librarian) at Te Wananga  Aronui o Tāmaki Makaurau (AUT). Ms Tairi spent twenty plus years working in tertiary sector libraries in Melbourne before returning to Aotearoa in 2016 to lead the AUT Whare Pakupaku (Library). She misses Melbourne and gets back as often as she can. An enthusiastic life long learner, she is learning Te Reo Māori and is interested in how empathy plays a role in designing services and spaces. Her library is the first academic library in Aotearoa to have purpose built,  innovative learning environment (makerspace). She is delighted to be leading the way. Ms Tairi loves fashion and pop culture and can be found hanging out in Twitter and Instagram at @kimtairi.
